Stratos Project on hold
7th December 2010 by Dimitri
Back in March I wrote about the Stratos Project. A project by Red Bull whom sponsored Felix Baumgartner to break Joe Kittinger’s 50 year old world record for the highest skydive marked at 102,800 ft. Baumgartner was to jump from a height of 120,000 ft from a custom made air balloon outside of our stratosphere. His attempt was to be performed sometime in October until Daniel Hogan (a promoter in California) filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the project. Hogan claims the idea was his, and that he went to Red Bull to pitch the idea back in 2004. The Stratos Project is currently on hold until the lawsuit gets resolved.
Baumgartner was to be connected to multiple HD cameras as well as the balloon to document the event. The decent will take about 6 minutes. Below is a touching & emotional trailer that Red Bull put together to promote the project.

Lets hope this lawsuit gets resolved soon so we can all view this stunning event.
