transparency

8th April 2010 by niko

I haven’t written anything in a long time. so right now, i’m writing this on my iphone using the wordpress app that I’ve actually had for the past year but never used. one of the reasons that I think I’ve taken so long to write is because, not being a writer, i’ve been placed certain standards on myself as to what a blog entry should be or not be (damn you social media and your undefined wild west)

last week though, I saw the movie Julie/Julia. if you know, it was an oscar nominee in a few categories. i always thought it as a chick flick from the ads (kinda was but on a totally different level). anyways, the main theme that i got out of it was simply: inspiration. and sidebar: truth be told, the acting was superb too.

so, in this post there are no photos or text links, nothing that i’m forcing myself to produce just for social media’s sake. just a bit of transparency into what’s on my mind today. after all, I’ve been talking about transparency all day so I may as well start it here and now.

I was saying that I think it’s important for clients to actually know a little more about individuals/companies they work wih in order to forge better relationships. by using social media, whether it’s twitter or linkedin, it becomes a means to an end. as long as the work gets done, if my clients know I enjoy a full bodied cabernet with my dinners, all the better.

but hey, if you’re shady to begin with, you’d be hiding anyway. yeah talking to you west VA mining companies. that’s all for now.

and happy birthday lauren cook.

the fuse & the cult

bluefuse & cult360

so where do you start when you’re buds with two other creative powerhouses?

actually, the beginnings go back 12 years ago when myself, danny armyn and vincent higgins all worked at young and rubicam. right away we clicked and have have remained friends since. my other 2 close friends, were gina cruz and christer manning. christer is a partner at foundry9 and gina is now my wife (go figure…you do keep good friends close). vincent is a partner at bluefuse design corp with jason grotrian and danny is a partner at cult360 along with jeff rothstein and joe jelic.

where it goes from there is a very creative space indeed. besides the fact we live & work in the new york city vicinity where art and creativity are at every step down the street, getting us in a room together is creative overdrive.

ok..that was just a shameless plug for our friends…but if you really want to see a great art show, go see the prefab homes show at MOMA.
