it seems that i’m not the only artist in the family. my cousin iris who lives in athens, greece has a pretty strong artistic streak running through her. although i hung up my fine art endeavors in favor of digital media a while back, iris started exploring her creativity a few years ago.

she makes very detailed constructions that she shows as little curios. as you can see from the detail below, she’s very meticulous. the pieces are not large at all and they have a very personal feeling about them. the piece shown above is only 15.3 x 21.5 cm and was done in 2005. for the non-europeans, that translates to 6 x 8.5 inches - and if you really want to see them in person you’ll have to travel to athens. i’ll post more of her art soon.
