http://stripgenerator.com/
i think this may be my favorite new time suck. stripgenerator.com lets users create small 3 frame comic strips with little or no artistic talent. it’s a pretty cool flash app that let’s you add, position & scale a library full of little figures, items, beings, text boxes, etc… plus, it has a nifty little drag and drop interface that makes it very fun to play with. you can even add colors and upload your own graphics (still gotta figure that one out).
for us who have kids out there, you’ve most probably played the games on noggin.com and nickjr.com. of course they’re so saccharine and branded for our little ones that they’re no fun for adults, but stripgenerator lets adults play to their hearts delight - and let me tell you there are some pretty cool ones out there. you can even create a strip blog with the provided tools and invite friends to follow your characters.
if you thought that making little comics was kid’s play, you’ll be surprised at how difficult it actually is to put together a short story in 3 frames. it just proves once again the obsession with comic strips and why we love the sunday funnies. where’s my hagar?

http://www.tygriscf.com/
the visual mercenary group is proud to announce that we just finished the developement of a new site for Tygris Commercial Finance. the site was designed by our friends at Segal Savad, whose flash site we also programmed and animated. it’s a great example of the beautifully designed work that comes out their shop.
the tygris site is built on the on microsoft’s .aspx platform and contains many dynamic areas and includes an admin tool for the tygris team to make easy updates. we’d like to wish Tygris success with their new web launch.

dreambrazil tours
hey! just a quick note. we just heard that DreamBrazil Tours was accepted as a member of Embratur - The Brazilian Tourist Board. visual mercenary group would like to congratulate darryl e-smythe on getting accepted. plus, we really love the site. we programmed and animated the entire site based on designs from scott meola and gina lee of simplissimus. now we’re just waiting for the opportunity to take up darryl’s offer of getting the extra-special deal (wink, wink) if we ever get our @$$3$ in gear and get to bahia for some serious eco-fun.
but speaking of simplissimus, scott is also the designer for the james beard foundation’s web site (which we also program and do the multimedia for). but we’ll chat about that later. we should also mention that scott did the sound design for the final vote spot. unfortunately, i haven’t downloaded the final mixdown from craven films. i really should, it sounds great!
